About the Blog

I started TheTrainInVain in February 2014, after several years of encouragement from family and friends to share my commuting stories in a blog. Ever since I joined social media, I've enjoyed posting my observations and it's just grown from there. It's been fun to hear reactions from people to the strange and interesting things I see.

People often share with me their own train experiences. I love to hear these stories. Please let me know if there's a topic you'd like me to explore, or if you'd like to write a guest post. I can be reached at thetrain.invain.829@gmail.com.

If you'd like to support the site, please click the ads you see on the blog page. A few pennies come my way every time. It's easy to do, costs you nothing, and it helps me to keep the site running.

You can follow me on Twitter at @davidrtrainguy. You can join the Facebook page, http://www.facebook.com/thetraininvain by clicking the Like button that is displayed throughout the blog site.

Additionally, if you use a reader aggregator, there is an RSS feed available. The RSS link is on the website header.

There is a mailing list to which you can subscribe. Each post I write is email-blasted to my subscriber list at 3 AM Eastern time, the day after I publish. At most you would receive one email per day from the site.  On average, I post about 2-3 times per week.

Thanks for your interest in The Train In Vain. Happy Commuting!
